A Life of adventure

Hello, and welcome!

We love young people at SBC. The reason we do youth work is to create a safe and loving community where young people get to know more about God and each other. One man called Paul once wrote to a small village in the Bible saying to the people there “we loved you so much we not only shared the Gospel with you, but our whole lives as well.”

In a nutshell, thats what we want to do. We want to give our young people the lens of the Gospel through which they can view their entire experience of life.

This year we are asking those coming to think about buying a gift for a child who goes along to the Oasis Centre. One of our youth leaders, Moniek, who helps there too, writes:

Every year we have a Christmas party with the ladies and children that go to Oasis.
On average we have about 80 children attending. This year we haven’t received any donations for gifts for the children so we are looking for sponsors that will either provide us with small gifts or some money so we can buy things.

We are particularly looking for gifts for babies (labels to say under 18 months please) like small stuffed toys, rattles etc. And for gifts for the over 8 year olds like colouring books, colouring pencils, felt tips, pencils, erasers, nice looking notebooks, little craft kits (but please avoid things with really small pieces because many have younger siblings).
Other gifts like cars, small dolls etc are also always welcome if that is what you prefer to give.

Gifts shouldn’t cost more than £3 and please don’t wrap them.”

So please do think about bringing an extra gift (or monetary donation) with you to the event.

We will be putting young people at the centre of our Family Christmas Celebration on the 15th December.
Please do sign up to get involved.

Another opportunity for a Christmas celebration. This one is alongside our brothers and sisters involved in youth groups across Luton.

It’s going to be good. Contact Pete to get hold of a ticket
